The Weekend of Christmases!

Well, we had a big Christmas this year. It was the first year that the boys really understood what was going on, and we had so much fun. Here is a quick synopsis of our Christmas this year.
Jeff had to work Christmas Eve, so after he got off, we loaded the van with 2.5 million pounds of clothes, food, presents, etc and hit the road.
We arrived at Grandma's house around 9PM Christmas Eve. We had planned on Levi falling asleep in the car, but of course that didn't happen. So, we showed up with a rambunctious toddler excited to see Grandma (or Meema as Levi says). So, with a squeel, Levi jumped out of the car and ran to Grandma.
After getting the car unloaded and Levi put to bed, we started in on all the Christmas jobs. Levi's big present this year was a bike, so Jeff started putting that together.

After the bike was put together, the stockings were stuffed, and there were Cookies and milk set out for Santa, we decided to head to bed.

Levi didn't get to sleep until 10 PM so we figured we would be able to sleep in a little. But...NOPE! Apparently, even though Levi has no understanding of Christmas, Santa, or presents, he was up at 6AM. So, we drug ourselves out of bed, and headed downstairs.
Levi, still with no understanding that this morning was any different than any other morning was shocked by what took place next. He immediately saw the bike and ran to it yelling "bike". He climbed up and started riding around the living room. He loved it! The next 2 hours was filled with stockings, gifts, cookies, candy, and pictures.

Next, as Grandma made breakfast and started a delicious Christmas dinner, we went outside to take Levi to ride his new bike. Levi had a blast!

After this, Levi had a much needed nap while we worked on dinner, cleaned up after the Christmas tornado that had come through, and waited for Melissa, Nathan, and Corban to come over for dinner. Once they arrived, and we had dinner, the presents began again.

As we looked around, the presents were almost all opened, except for one giant present, behind the couch from Santa to the boys. As they opened it, they were excited to find a vintage Mercedes Benz peddle car. What a great gift! Grandma Santa did great! So, we took out the car and started playing. Although, having to share one car caused a bit of a problem, they eventually took turns had had a lot of fun.

After this crazy day, we knew that it was time to put these tired boys to bed because we had another Christmas the next day with Grandma and Grandpa Buechler. So we all went to bed and dreamed of all the great things we had gotten and the day to come.
The next day, we met the Buechler/Jamieson/Smith crew at the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner and presents. It was a little crazy with 13 people, tons of presents, and two toddler, but we survived and had some great time with family.

Finally, after dinner was done, we all went to Zoo Lights. We had a long drive ahead of us and figured that Levi would love to get some energy out. It was great to look at the Christmas lights, but the boys liked the aquarium and shark tank the most. They both love fish so we walked around and looked at every fish they had!

That was the end of our Christmas! At 9 PM, we loaded Levi in the car and headed back to Portland. It definitely took a couple of days to recover from that whirlwind Christmas, but it was great to see everybody. Plus...we must have fooled Santa because I think we all got way more gifts than we deserved!
